Objective
The aim of Sustainable Leadership Studies is to provide management practices and frameworks that guide both near-term and long-term activities and help different actors to make sustainable development solutions in strategic and operational decision-making. The student gets a picture of the information and skills required for sustainable management.
Content
The goal of sustainable leadership is to create sustainable prosperity in a safe, inclusive and pluralistic society where everyone carries responsibility for the environment. The theme of the course is sustainable development, which is examined from different perspectives. The views are: 1) ecological / environmental, 2) economic and 3) social / societal. The viewpoints are mainly locally and nationally, but also global sustainability is dealt with. Through this, the participants will form a holistic view of sustainable leadership. In addressing the environmental aspect, special emphasis is given to climate change, where energy production plays a key role. The economic aspect is approaching the problematic field of sustainability from the market point of view, from the transition from oil to other alternatives. The change generates a wealth of new business and development activities: product lifecycle analysis; product, pricing, distribution channels, and communication from a sustainable leadership perspective. From a social point of view, the social impacts of organizations' activities in relation to personnel and the operating environment (community, society and the international community) are examined. The course is implemented virtually in the Moodle learning environment and can be run independently of time and place. 3 months from the beginning of the start of the course.
