Code: IK10067
Credits
5 op
Teaching language
- Finnish
Responsible person
- Kari Mönkkönen
Objective
You understand the meaning/importance of the basic precision engineering principles and state-of-the-art concepts for designing higher precision and accuracy into products and processes, whether they are ultra precision or otherwise. You understand what factors affect the quality of mass produced dimensionally accurate products. You develop skills in model based definition and geometrical product specifications.
Content
- Importance of precision engineering
- Principles of precision machine design: Principles and techniques for the design of precision machines.
- An introduction to precision and ultra precision machining processes.
- Optical design principles of light pipes and magnifying mirrors
- Impact of specifying tolerances on manufacturing, manufacturing strategies
- ISO GPS and MBD
Further information
The teaching language of the course is Finnish if there are no exchange students in the course.
