Sisältö

This course focuses on the visual communication processes through view angles of the author and the viewer. In constructing a visual message it is central to understand the interaction between the work and the recipient as well as the creative process between the author and the work itself. In order to understand how the visual message is generated and how it will affect, we will study visual expression in photography and graphic design. Students wil learn about the world of visual messages by pondering over the historical and cultural perspectives. Also, you will learn new means of visual expression by studying some special photography techniques. Key themes include: Ways of seeing and semiotic interpretation of the image (representation) transmitting a visual message, the process by the author (information processing) the photo expression (photo journalism, group photography) interaction with text and image (advertising, posters) special techniques (stereo image, panorama, HDR timelapse)
