- comprehends new opportunities for innovation and research provided by developments in media technology

- observes impacts of media culture in one's own surroundings and activities
- can critically evaluate the relationships between, media culture, society and technology, and understands the role of media culture in social reality.

Student focuses on main concepts and directions in media culture research and current themes of interest. Themes consist of following themes:
- What is media culture
- How have the different areas of media culture developed historically
- In what ways are media culture phenomena conceptualised and researched in media and cultural studies
- How is media culture developing
- How do these changes influence media culture environments and media contents
