Teaching methods

You will get to know the basics of sound design and techniques
You know how to use the equipment and software necessary for studying sound.
You will get to know basics of analog and digital audio technology
You understand the possibilities and limitations of technology and acoustics in the production process.
The content of the course consists of learning how to use the tools needed in sound recording and simple sound design methods.

In the lectures and various exercises, you get to know the operating principles of sound recording devices used in audio, web and video productions, as well as the operation of computer-based editing workstations and key editing software.

Basics of sound design introduces the basic principles of voice and speaking, narrative continuity and the importance of sound editing as a component of sound design, as well as the general physiological, acoustic and narrative properties of sound.

Exam schedules

November-December 2024, 3 retakes can be done according to your own schedule. Last deadline 20.12.2024

Completed in second degree studies is not directly a compensatory study.

1. The student has participated in the lessons (lectures at least 80%) and completed the assigned tasks within the deadline
2. The student has passed the exam (Moodle).
3. The student has prepared and presented his own planned audio work:
- Prepared the synopsis and manuscript and returned them for evaluation
- Recorded and edited the audio work for presentation
- Participated in the evaluation event where, own and the study group's returned works, is evaluated
- Wrote a self-evaluation about the development of his own skills during and as a result of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria

Since teaching and learning is a significant part of distance learning, using numerical evaluation is not justified.
However, assessment of competence may be meaningful for some students. Accepted/Fail can be converted to a numerical rating of 0-5 upon request.

1. The student has participated in the lessons (lectures at least 80%) and completed the assigned tasks within the deadline
