Teaching methods

The aim of the course is to understand the importance of good communication and functional interaction in successful supervisory and management work. The course provides information on the factors that affect supervisor interaction and communication from the perspectives of both the employee and the work community. The course provides information on how a supervisor can make their own team succeed and get excited about their work.

Themes to be covered in the course:
- Encounters in the workplace: What makes a very communicative supervisor? How should a supervisor act and behave in different interaction situations?
- Appreciation and trust in the work community: respectful leadership, promotion of cooperation, fairness
- Good feedback culture as a success factor in the work community
- The supervisor solves challenging situations in the work community

The course includes online lessons and independent study, as well as making four essay-type texts. The course is suitable, for example, for students who aim to become supervisors and managers in the future, or for those who work as supervisors to help develop their own skills.
