Objective

- you know how the research and development are a part of your professional skills
- you understand the differences and similarities between basic research, applied research and development
- you have basic knowledge of various research and development methods
- you know how to acquire and use information based on research and development activities in you field.

Content

- Starting points of research and development activities: basic research, applied research, R&D, development work, direction of project reasoning (induction, deduction, abduction), information acquisition, source criticism
- Methods of development work: ideation, innovation, product development, basics of project work, project work methods.
- Different materials and research methods: quantitative, qualitative, and mixed
- Statistical literacy, acquaintance with statistical thinking and reasoning, statistics in one's own field
- Reporting on research and development.

Note! Participation in the course requires that at least 30 ECTS of complementary studies have been completed.
