Objective

The course is intended for students whose mother tongue is not Finnish. The language level of the course is A2.2 - B1. The course is an independent online course.

You will practice everyday dialogues and learn how to react in Finnish in simple everyday situations, such as in the shop, the library and the workplace. You will learn the spoken language and expressions that will help you to react in Finnish in different situations. At the same time, you will become familiar with Finnish culture and everyday situations.

Objectives. You will learn everyday language and expressions that are appropriate for the situation. You will practise spoken and written communication in everyday and work-related situations. You will deepen your understanding of Finnish culture and customs.

Content

During the course
- you will work independently on listening and speaking tasks to strengthen your listening comprehension and spoken expression in different situations.
-you will also practise grammar, such as noun conjugation and verb tenses, and expand your vocabulary.

The course is an independent online course. You complete all assignments in Moodle and return them to Moodle by the due date.

Teaching methods

The course is intended for students whose mother tongue is not Finnish. The language level of the course is A2.2 - B1. The course is an independent online course.

During the course you will practice everyday dialogues and learn how to act in Finnish in different everyday situations. For example, you will learn how to ask for advice in a shop, order food in a restaurant, make a doctor's appointment, go to the bank and talk to a colleague during a break. You will learn spoken expressions and common phrases. At the same time, you will get to know Finnish culture and practical business situations.

During the course, you will work independently on a variety of listening and speaking tasks. You will practise by listening to short conversations and recordings, filling in missing words or answering questions. In speaking tasks, you will be given model dialogues and you will practise saying out loud your own answers in different situations.
