Objective

You know the basis of forest regeneration and the regeneration chains for our main tree species according to The Best Practices for sustainable forest management in Finland. You can choose the right regeneration method to the forest site. You know reforestation materials and forest tree improvement. You know the possibilities of planting and sowing with machine. You know how to plant trees and do the site inventory. You can calculate the profitability of investments for different regeneration chains.

- The biological and economical basis on forest regeneration and the law in it.
- Regeneration cutting
- Site preparation methods
- Reforestation materials and forest tree improvement.
- The follow up of reforestation site, tending of seedling and young stand
- Sawing, planting and tending of young stand with machine
- Investment value calculations
- Field course; regeneration planning for a final felling site
