Objective

Student is aware of the role of research and development in business.

Student knows how to find, process and present secondary data so that it becomes relevant information.

The student is capable of contributing to project work and to the planning and implementation of a research project. The student is capable of composing a research report or part of a research report using academic English and adhering to the guidelines presented in the reporting instructions. The student is capable of combining parts of a report written by other students into a cohesive piece. The student is able to give an oral presentation on research.

1. Statistical Literacy
- Different types of data: qualitative, quantitative, visual, primary and secondary data
- Main national and international sources of relevant business information
- Reading statistical information
- Presenting statistical information: drawing charts and figures
- Critical perception of statistical information

2. Project Management
- Project as a tool for business development
- Design of project plan
- Main obstacles in project work
- Implementation of a small project

3. Reporting research and projects
- Outline of report
- Academic conventions in reporting
- Academic English
- Oral presentations
