Model-Based Product Design (MBD)Laajuus (5 cr)

Code: IA10001

Credits

5 op

Teaching language

  • Finnish

Responsible person

  • Kari Mönkkönen

Objective

The student masters systematic geometric tolerancing in the design of parts and is able to produce demanding geometric product requirements from them directly into 3D models with the help of model-based product specification. The student is able to attach model-based product requirements to the 3D model in accordance with the current standards. The student knows how to use geometric tolerancing consistently and systematically. The student can interpret the most common geometric tolerances logically and systematically.

Content

- Principles of geometrical tolerancing and the most common markings
- Datum features, in-depth knowledge (ISO 5459)
- Geometrical tolerances, in-depth knowledge
- Systematic geometrical tolerancing taking into account manufacturability and measurement
- Dimensioning, tolerancing and annotations according to the MBD standard
- Data transfer for manufacturing and measurement
