Objective

The student learns the principles of communication and presentation skills. The student knows the meaning of communication in social welfare work. The student knows how to analyze literature and she/he can prepare a panel discussion based on the literature. The student knows how to do evaluate his/her communication skills as a speaker and member of a team.

Content

Linguistically correct Speeches, panel discussion based on the literature. The student knows the principles of communication. Different interaction situations, communication styles, different speech situations at work and in studying. Arguing and discussing.He/she will also learn the principles of team work, conferences and meetings and he/she can prepare speeches for different situations.The student understands the importance of intercultural communication.

Materials

Kurssin Moodle-materiaali sekä Neuvotellen tulokseen, Jaakko Lehtonen & Sirkka Kortetjärvi-Nurmi tai vastaava teos.

Student workload

Kokonaistyömäärä 54 t, mihin sisältyy lähiopetuksiin osallistuminen, osoitettuun opetusmateriaaliin ja kirjallisuuteen perehtyminen, suullisiin esityksiin valmistautuminen ja esittäminen.
